The Smithy is situated near the village of Pembridge in beautiful North Herefordshire, close to the Welsh border.
It was a working forge until 1941 and has been renovated over the years prior to business being re-established by Bromley in 1992. The workshop is fully equipped with both traditional equipment and the latest technology for the hot forging of a variety of metals though Bromley has a special interest in working stainless steel. This contemporary material is durable, stable and lends itself to interesting design solutions and beautiful textures. Due to these attributes, Bromley finds that he is increasingly incorporating stainless steel into his designs. Quality and personal service are of the highest priority. All commissions are designed and made by Bromley and his experience provides him with the skills to produce designs and finished products that are appropriately strong in structural capability whilst utilising the delicacy of form that is inherent in the materials. From quite humble beginnings the business has grown to a large customer base together with a diverse product range. In 1997, Bromley became an Associate to the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths (AWCB) and has in more recent years won 1st prizes and awards at The Royal Welsh and New Forest Shows. |
